This werewolf is seen in the first battle of Anna and Velkn Valerious. It is a servant of Dracula. Anna Valerious and her brother Velkan Valerious along with a group of villagers are hunting it in the woods. Is captured in a trap, but easily escapes. It attempts to attack Anna at the edge of a cliff when Velkan pushes her aside and is pushed off the cliff taking the Werewolf with him. He however manages to shoot it with a Silver Bullet killing it. Later Velkan returns as a Werewolf himself.

- Since the identity of this werewolf is never revealed in the film, many fans theorized that it was probably Lawrence Talbot, since he was the only member of the iconic trio of Universal Monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and The Wolf Man) that was missing in the film.
- However, it is much more likely that it is a Bela version (a character played by Bela Lugosi of the original 1941 film "The Wolf Man"), since it infects the character with the title of "The Wolf Man" (Velkan). Other theories suggest that, given that the werewolves in Van Helsing in their bestial forms have the hair color of the hair of their human forms (Velkan is brown, Gabriel Van Helsing has hair and (as a werewolf) black), and the Bela character is of advanced age, it is not very unreasonable to think that he is the one. In addition, Bela was a gypsy, and in the film set in Transylvania has many characters who are gypsies, including Anna and Velkan.
